For large implementations
the first phase is usually a pilot project.
The pilot is used to clarify on various
issues related to the technology platforms
and systems currently in place in the
organization. The functional matters
relating to translation of the sales
processes to the automation system are
also tested out. Any user problems in
terms of understanding can be ironed
out at this stage. Some customization
might also be required at this stage.
There can be more than one pilot implementation
depending on the size and geographical
or business diversification of the organization.
